The end of the Turned Hair

Bubbles (turned hairs that grow inside the skin and the inflammation they create) are the result of shaving and waxing. Annoying, unsightly. Characterize them as you want, curly hair is an unwanted side effect of old hair removal methods. This is why many people who often get follicles come to us at Healthy Derma Clinics to get rid of curly hair permanently.

What is a turned hair?

Turned hairs are hairs that grow inside the skin after being shaved, removed with tweezers or waxed. Hair that grows inside the skin causes painful inflammation.

Why does it happen?

Some men are prone to developing bursitis on their face and neck. This may be due to coarse or curly hair that is more likely to grow inside the skin. For women, waxing around the bikini line can lead to more frizzy hair, which becomes unsightly due to inflammation in the surrounding skin.

What can I do about it?

At Healthy Derma Clinics, we put our 2 different lasers to work, removing hair growth all over the body of our patients, including the hair that has turned. Lasers can permanently reduce the volume of hair growth in areas that are prone to curly hair.

How do lasers get rid of internal hair?

The hair follicle, whether it grows normally or grows back into the skin, is our goal. The new technology of lasers allows us to absorb their energy from the follicle even if there is no hair growth on the surface.

Why do I need more than one laser hair removal session?

Modern Alexandrite Laser Head

The key to successful hair follicle destruction is to achieve the hair in the hair growth phase (regenerative phase). At this stage, the hair growth is still actively "anchored" in the follicle and receiving food. Laser energy can reach the follicle and destroy it.

The problem is that hair growth can also be in the native or telogen phase. In both of these stages of the hair growth cycle, the hair follicles are in the process of falling out or have already fallen out. Because these hairs are no longer actively "anchored" in the follicle, the laser energy can not travel below the hair shaft in the follicle. Thus, when these hairs are struck during a hair removal session, they are not affected by the laser energy. This is why multiple sessions are required: to catch as many hairs as possible in the active growth phase.
