Even a 20 minute workout shield for inflammation

Exercise has many important health benefits. This is no new information. New research, however, reveals another, very important role of exercise, which has to do with immune system.

Scientists advise us to deal with what we love as an exercise, even for 20 minutes per day, as this way we will protect our immune system from possible inflammation.

Researchers at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine have found that 20 minutes of moderate intensity exercise, such as brisk walking or cycling, lead to a series of reactions that result in reduction of a number of inflammatory factors. Inflammation is a key defense mechanism of the body and plays a vital role in protecting us from microbial infection.

The study involved 47 people who made a treadmill depending on their level of ability and endurance. The researchers took blood from the volunteers before and after exercise. After analysis, they concluded that the exercise does not have to be intense to be effective in reducing inflammation and that 20 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise seems to be enough.
